Global Initiatives is helping to support two speaker series classes for Fall 2009 — Market-Based Approaches to Poverty Alleviation during Fall A, and Introduction to Microfinance during Fall B.
Both speaker series are designed to introduce students to different methods of addressing poverty that take advantage of the power of the market and new business models. This year will feature all new speakers, readings, and lectures from last years — so students who have previously enrolled are encouraged to attend again this year. This course is also an excellent way to explore these subjects for the first time.
